A young boy who lives in Taverley has kicked his ball into the garden of a scary old lady.

He asks you to get it back for him. This proves more difficult than it first sounds.

Learning about the stolen ball

Speak to the boy whom is located just inside the members world gate into Taverly. He has accidentally kicked his ball over the hedges into the old lady's yard and she locked it up in her shed. Tell the boy you will see what you can do about getting the ball back.

Now go around the house to the east end; you will find a door. The door is locked and you need a key to unlock it. "Look-under" the potted plant just north of the door and find a key.

Outsmarting the security system

After you go inside, pick up her Diary from the table. When you read through the diary, you will learn of her "experiment" and new security system. She also wrote about how a "pesky kid keeps kicking his ball in her garden." Last but not least, the key to the shed is hidden in a secret compartment of the garden fountain. Climb down the ladder, put your leather gloves on, and head through the gate. Note: If you do not have leather gloves you can search the boxes in the cellar for a pair. Open up and search the cupboard to find a magnet.

After retrieving the magnet head upstairs and enter the small southern room which leads to the garden. Use your cheese on the mouse hole which is located in the southeast corner of the room. Be careful not to eat it. A mouse will come out of the hole and eat the cheese on the floor. Quickly use your magnet on the mouse. When the mouse enters its hole, the magnet will activate the tumblers and the door will unlock.

Fighting an experiment and retrieving the ball

Head into the garden and quickly and carefully run from hedge to hedge to the fountain on the other side. Hide in the center of the hedges as the old lady, Nora T. Hagg, walks from end to end patrolling. If you are caught, you will be teleported out of the house and will have to start all over again.

Upon reaching the fountain, check it for a key like the diary mentioned, and you'll find one.

Return to the shed once more and use the key you found in the fountain with it. Take the ball and prepare to fight.

The experiment will change into a different form each time you kill it.

  • Odd Experiment Form 1 (Skavid) - level 19
  • Odd Experiment Form 2 (Spider) - level 30
  • Odd Experiment Form 3 (Bear) - level 42
  • Odd Experiment Form 4 (Wolf) - level 53

Grab the ball once you finish killing off the experiment and make your way out of the house. You can not teleport out of the house. Remember to continue hiding because if she catches you, you will be teleported out of the house without the ball. You will not have to fight the experiment again though. Return to the boy, give him his ball and...
