The Elder Kiln

Recommendations: Must be able to defeat level 300+ foes.
The TzHaar are having trouble with their eggs. Due to lack of heat or far too much, their children are coming out as Ga'al; without the memories of their parent. Help the TzHaar save their race and find a use for the Ga'al, other than an honourable death in the Fight Pits.

Dying Egg


Start by talking to TzHaar-Mej-Jeh, who will explain his egg is dying, and it asks for your help. You must use fire spells to heat up the egg, and water spells to cool it down. Aim to keep the heat between the two pointers on the temperature gauge. When the egg's heat is inside the pointers, the hatching percentage will increase, and when outside, it will decrease.
The pointers will move around a bit, depending on the percentage. When the percentage reaches 100%, it will hatch... into a Ga'al - a TzHaar without any memories. Jeh has an idea to restore the memories to the Ga'al, and that other Mej will not agree with the idea.

Fight Pits

Jeh asks you to bring his Ga'al to the library. Head west and look for TzHaar-Mej-Ak near the Ga'al. Try talking to him, but he won't let you have the Ga'al unless you can protect him in the fight pits. You must attack any human or TzHaar that attacks the Ga'al.
After everyone dies, Jeh will come and talk to Ak. Ak will not listen and will summon TzHaar-Ket-Yit'tal, champion of the fight pits. It will destroy Ga'al-Jeh, and come after you. Kill him.

Path to the Kiln



1st Room

Head southeast from the two Mej and enter the cave to the Kiln. Jump across the chasm, and encourage Ga'al-Xox to do so as well. On the other side, you will be attacked by Lava Monsters that use magic and melee, and a TokTz-Ket-Dill.
Turn on protect mage and kill the Lava Monsters first then turn off your prayer for the TokTz-Ket-Dill. You must attack the Dill with a rune pickaxe or better at first until it loses its armour. It will occasionally use a special attack that will hit through prayer.
After clearing the room, search the skeleton near the cave entrance to find a journal.

2nd Room


Enter the room to find some TokKul and obsidian throwing rings. You will give the rings to Xox to use for combat. In this room are three Lava Monsters and two Ket-Zek. With protect mage on the entire time, kill the Lava Monsters first, then the Ket-Zek.

3rd Room


The next room contains four lava monsters and a Dill. At the end of this room is an ancient gate. Try operating the scales on either side of the door and you will see some symbols. Each side is different, and it's different for each person. Use the following guide to do the math:

If you place the wrong amount, you will be dealt a large amount of damage. After the scales are correctly balanced, the ancient gate will open.

4th and 5th Rooms


Jump across all three chasms, kill the Dill, jump across the last two, and enter the cave entrance.

In the next room, there will be four Lava Monsters and a Yt-MejKot. If you're in melee distance of the Yt-MejKot, then it will heal itself and the Lava Monsters once they're low on health. Try to trap the Yt-MejKot behind the pool of lava and kill the Lava Monsters first.

The Elder Kiln


As you enter the room, TokHaar-Hok will challenge you through seven waves of monsters.

1 Hur (level 100 melee), Xil (level 140 range)
2 Xil, Ket (180 melee), Mej (160 mage)
3 2x Xil, Mej
4 Xil, 2x Hur, Mej
5 Xil, Hur, Mej, Ket
6 2x Mej, Xil, Ket
7 Xil, Mej, Ket Champion (level 357 melee, drains prayer)

After all seven waves, speak with TokHaar-Hok. You can ask about the history of the TokHaar and TzHaar, but when ready, ask for help and explain you want to help the Ga'al by infusing the TokKul's memory with it.


Finishing Up


The Ga'al will mention something about the pressure, and will explain when you're away from the Kiln. Leave and talk to Xox. He will tell you to run, as the TokHaar will hunt you down. Run all the way back through the caves to the city.
Once in the city, return to the Plaza and talk to Ak and Jeh. They will seek concrete evidence that the Ga'al isn't lying. The TzHaar won't listen to reason, so Xox will leave to return to the Kiln.
