Introduction
The sky is falling! Shooting stars are falling all over RuneScape, and Star Sprites are in need of help getting out of them! You'll find yourself richly rewarded in mining experience and other benefits if you are able to mine through layer after layer and reach the sprite!
This Distraction and Diversion was released with the original three on September 2, 2008.

Finding Stars
Whether hunting by yourself, or with friends, you're going to need to be able to figure out when and where the stars are going to land. Stars land roughly every two hours on every world, and there are a lot of different places a star could land.
To get that information, you need to build and look through a telescope in a Player Owned House using the construction skill.

Rewards
You gain extra experience for being the first to "tag" a star, as well as experience for mining the star. You get Stardust for mining the star, and can hold up to 200 dust, though can keep mining after you have your 200.
After the star is finished, talk to the Star Sprite in the remains of the shooting star to recieve your reward. For 200 dust, you get:
- 50,002 GP
- 20 Gold ore (noted)
- 52 Astral runes
- 152 Cosmic runes
- Receive extra ore when mining for the next 15 minutes
Note: The rewards will go down in quantity if you have less than 200 dust.
